Spanish government spends 600 million euros on solar desalination
State-owned company Sociedad Estatal de Aguas de las Cuencas Mediterráneas (Akuamed) will soon launch a tender for a solar-powered desalination project in Spain. The government authorized state-owned company Acuamed to tender for the new desalination plant and photovoltaic solar park, allocating a budget of 600 million euros. Acuamed will develop agreements to incentivize investment in photovoltaic parks and set a maximum selling price for desalinated water.
