European Parliament sets 24-month deadline for approving renewable energy projects
Under the European Green Deal and the REPowerEU plan, the European Parliament voted overwhelmingly to approve a series of measures to support the development of renewable energy. The legislation simplifies the licensing process for new renewable energy generation facilities, stipulating that national authorities should approve installations in "renewable energy friendly zones" within 12 months and no longer than 24 months in other areas.
