Southeast Asia has huge photovoltaic manufacturing potential, with module production capacity reaching 150GW in 2023
Recently, "ASEAN Briefing" reported that Southeast Asia has the potential to produce 125-150GW of photovoltaic module capacity by 2030. The region already controls 2-3% of the world's polysilicon and wafer production capacity, and 9-10% of the world's module and cell production capacity. Most production is concentrated in Laos, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.
